THREE FINNISH COMPANIES UNITE FOR CLEANER SHIPPING

Monday, February 10, 2020

Finnish ship design company Deltamarin says that it is joining forces with two other leading Finnish suppliers to assist in decarbonisation and digitalisation.

The company says that IMO’s ambitious GHG strategy calls for massive emission reductions by 2050. At the same time the pace of digitalisation is accelerating.

Deltamarin, Wärtsilä and gas supplier Gasum have joined forces to show how they can help ship owners meet the challenges and possibilities and contribute to saving the environment while keeping the business profitable.

  • Deltamarin offers future-proof design with high cargo capacity and low energy consumption;
  • Wärtsilä delivers the next generation propulsion machinery solutions with future fuel flexibility;
  • Gasum enables the transition to cleaner energy.

At the same time Deltamarin is releasing a new portal showcasing its digital design philosophy and showing examples of ship performance in pre-set standard routes. The platform can simulate effects on fuel consumption and environmental impact in real maritime operational conditions.
