RADIO HOLLAND TO PROVIDE NAVCOMS SERVICE FOR EEMSWERKEN

Thursday, May 23, 2019

Dutch shipping company Eemswerken (Werkendam) has recently concluded service contracts with Radio Holland Netherlands for its entire fleet of cargo vessels.

The service contracts include SOLAS annual surveys, special regional service rates and on-demand services of the Navigation and Communication equipment on board, globally. Radio Holland has partnered with EemsWerken for many years, providing NavCom service support to their vessels. The contracts confirm the continuation and extension of this longstanding relationship. Radio Holland ensures the regulation related annual GMDSS, SSAS and BNWAS surveys are carried out and the required SBM certificates issued. This is an important part of the service contracts for Eemswerken, to guarantee a flawless operation of the equipment on board, while complying with regulations.

Radio Holland will do a complete health check of the Nav/Com equipment on board, including detailed reporting on the actual status and performance of the NavCom equipment. In view of the global operations of EemsWerken, they were particularly interested in the worldwide service network of Radio Holland. Through the network, qualified and certified technicians can provide on-the-spot and quick support to their vessels along major shipping routes. The contracts include a dedicated point of contact within the RH service coordination team, detailed annual management & operational reporting and proactive alerts on expiry dates of all GMDSS related equipment and certificates. Radio Holland will also be the preferred partner for spare parts, equipment, refits and newbuild projects.

Esmeralda Arkesteijn, account manager Radio Holland, said: “The benefit of this enhanced cooperation is increased uptime and decreased cost for EemsWerken. Unplanned maintenance caused by breakdown will be prevented. Availability and reliability of equipment will increase the uptime. We are happy to continue our close partnership with the new service agreements. We provide EemsWerken with priority services through the Radio Holland Global Service Network and priority access to spare parts. With these new agreements we are actually providing life cycle management care of the equipment on board.”
