Multinational petroleum corporation Petrobras turned to Roxtec for verification of the cable and pipe transits onboard the P-68 FPSO vessel before final approval from the classification society.

Petrobras also asked the transit specialist to educate engineers and installers of Petrobras and the Jurong Shipyard on how Roxtec seals work. Sealing experts from Roxtec are able to inspect cable and pipe transits onboard operating fleets and offshore units and verify transits on new-builds. For the launch of the P-68 in Brazil, Roxtec supported both owner and shipyard through inspection and education.

Roxtec does not only develop and manufacture cable and pipe transits. The company also offers transit safety services. The sealing experts perform visual inspections, recommend corrective actions, and register transits on marine and offshore units all over the world. Roxtec introduced the new Roxtec Transit Inspector device and performed transit inspections onboard the FPSO. The aim was to verify the installation quality and increase the knowledge about the sealing solutions. The Roxtec team consisted of sealing experts and inspectors from Sweden, Mexico and Brazil.

Mr Itaiuã, MCT integrity responsible at Petrobras for P-68 and P-71 FPSO carryovers and integration, said that Roxtec provides an "incredible aftermarket service".
