UK P&I Club has launched a collaboration with self-help professional, Andrew Johnson to offer its members exclusive access to mindfulness recordings.

Johnson has 24-years’ experience in helping people in moments of stress or concern to relax, change and create the lives they want through his range of self-care MP3 downloads, apps and workshops.

The Club says that mindfulness improves well-being by helping individuals become fully engaged in activities, as well as creating a greater capacity to deal with adverse events. Focusing on the here and now, mindfulness relieves people from worries about the future or regrets over the past, reduces concerns about success and self-esteem, and enables deeper connections with others. Mindfulness can also improve physical health.

Scientific research shows that mindfulness techniques help relieve stress, treat heart disease, lower blood pressure, reduce chronic pain, improve sleep, and alleviate gastrointestinal difficulties. Additionally, mindfulness can improve mental health through meditation as an element in the treatment of a number of problems, including depression, substance abuse, eating disorders, conflicts, anxiety disorders, and obsessive-compulsive disorder.
