South Korea's Yonhap news agency reports that Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) has received a US$380 million order to build two LNG carrying ships.

Under the deal with Maran Gas Maritime, the gas shipping unit of Angelicoussis Shipping Group, DSME will build the two 174,000m3 LNG tankers by the end of 2021, the company said in a statement.

DSME has obtained US$1.1 billion worth of orders so far this year to build nine ships, including six oil tankers, it said. The company is aiming to win US$8.37 billion worth of new orders in 2019, up 10% from last year's order target of US$7.3 billion. For the whole of 2018, the shipyard clinched deals valued at US$6.81 billion.
