Japan’s Imabari Shipbuilding has delivered the 200,000dwt bulker Cape Sapphire to K-LINE. The ship is compliant with the Common Structural Rules for Bulk Carrier (CSR-BC) for bulk cargo ships and is equipped with an electronically controlled MES MAN-B&W 6G70ME-C9.5 engine. In order to reduce fuel consumption, the vessel features a “Weather Adapted Duct” in front of the propeller and a hybrid fin behind the propeller. Global sulphur cap requirements have also been met with the installation of a marine exhaust gas system.
