GTT has selected Korean company DSEC to collaborate on the GTT Support Services related to the Membrane Cargo Containment System (CCS) of the Shell–operated Prelude FLNG facility.

This agreement associating GTT and DSEC’s capabilities for maintenance and related services is intended to bring the best expertise to the client. DSEC is already recognised for its ability to implement CHS (Cargo Handling System) systems and support shipyards as a GTT qualified licensee for CCS.

Philippe Berterottière, Chairman and CEO of GTT commented: “We are very proud of the agreement with DSEC, one of the key players of the LNG industry in Korea and worldwide. In addition, I am delighted to sign this contract with Mr. Il Dong Park, Chairman of DSEC, and M Joon Sup Shin, President and CEO, strengthening our long-term relationship.”

GTT is establishing key partnerships in order to adapt its offer to the industry requirements. The company, which pursues a strategy of constant innovation in terms of research and development to continually upgrade its range of technologies and services to be able to offer shipyards and ship-owners high added value solutions.

Prelude is located 475km North-North East of Broome in Western Australia where, once operating, it will produce 5.3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of liquids: 3.6 mtpa of LNG, 1.3 mtpa of condensate and 0.4 mtpa of liquefied petroleum gas. GTT’s membrane containment system Mark III was selected for the design of the tanks.
