FSG YARD HANDS OVER SEVENTH RO-RO TO SIEM

Monday, September 16, 2019

The ro-ro vessel 'Leevsten' has now been handed over to owner SIEM by German yard Flensburger-Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG).

This is the seventh in a series of eight being built at FSG for SIEM. The eighth is due to be launched at the end of October.

The ship is 209.79m long, 26m wide and of 32,887gt. It has 4076 lane metres capacity, and is powered by two MAN 8L48/60CR main engines.

At the same time, FSG announced that investment company Tennor Holding has now become the sole owner of the yard, following the successful acquisition of all remaining shares in FSG from the former owners, SIEM Europe. FSG has recently experienced financial difficulties following delays in deliveries of recent ferry orders. Tennor (formerly Sapinda Holding) became the principal shareholder in the business in February. Since SIEM became a shareholder in FSG in September 2014 it has been the main purchaser of vessels produced at the yard, included the series of eight ro-ro ships.
