As part of the yard's reorganisation process, Flensburger-Schiffbau-Gesellschaft (FSG) has been in negotiations with customers and suppliers since the beginning of the year, in order to secure its long-term future.

To this end, FSG says several measures have been implemented in order to successfully achieve this target. Following on from the launch of its seventh ro-ro vessel for FSG's parent company SIEM, named Leevsten, the start of production of the eighth SIEM ro-ro, Newbuilding no 781, has been postponed. This has allowed outfitting work on the ro-pax ferry for Brittany Ferries to be intensified. Postponement of Newbuilding 781 has led to a partial and temporary underemployment in part of the production. For this reason, the Company’s management and Works Council have applied to the Labour Employment Agency for short-time work in this area.
