FJORD 1 TAKES DELIVERY OF TWO HYBRID FERRIES

Monday, October 22, 2018

Havyard Ship Technology has handed over two vessels to Norwegian operator Fjord 1, following successful sea trials last week of the hybrid ferries Austrått and Vestrått.

“We have now had Husavik in operation for six months and we received two [new] vessels in October that will be put into operation at the turn of the year. We are pleased with the vessels and perhaps most importantly, the good cooperation that exists between Havyard Ship Technology and Fjord1,” said Deon Mortensen, Security and Maritime Technical Director of Fjord1.

Havyard Ship Technology Managing Director Lasse Stokkeland said: “Our focus is to deliver quality, at the right price and within the deadline, and so far we are well placed. When we now deliver two ferries in a week, it is first and foremost our skilled and motivated employees who make it possible."

The next hybrid ferry Havyard will deliver will be HST Building Number 136, a Havyard 936 design, which is due for delivery in December.
