The plug-in hybrid vessel, 'Color Hybrid', has been launched from the dock hall at Ulstein Verft and is now positioned quayside, undergoing completion work prior to delivery this summer.

The vessel will operate between Sandefjord (Norway) and Strömstad (Sweden). Color Hybrid measures 160m in length and 27.1m in the beam. She can carry 2,000 passengers and 500 cars.

Being a plug-in hybrid, the ship can switch to batteries on parts of her journey. In this mode she has very low noise levels, at a level that can be compared to normal speech, and there are no local harmful emissions. The batteries are recharged via shore connection in Sandefjord, based on green energy.
