Container shipping group CMA CGM has entered into a cooperation agreement with Notilo Plus, a French company specialising in autonomous underwater solutions.

Notilo Plus has developed a customised drone and digital monitoring platform featuring tailored algorithms to optimize the inspection of ships’ hulls. Under the agreement, CMA CGM will invest in, and work with, Notilo Plus to further develop the concept into a system which will help to automate and increase the number of hull inspections to improve the productivity of the Group’s vessels and to standardise safety inspections.

CMA CGM has acquired a stake in Notilo Plus via its corporate venture fund, CMA CGM Ventures. This collaboration is part of CEO Rodolphe Saadé’s strategy to support innovation through equity stakes and ambitious commercial partnerships with start-ups with strong entrepreneurial values and innovative industrial projects.
