Incorporating Clean Shipping International

Monday, October 15, 2018

A new ferry for Alaska has been launched at the Vigor-Alaska-operated Ketchikan Shipyard.

The 85m Hubbard is the second of its class, both built in Alaska. The first, Tazlina, was launched in May 2018 and christened two months later. Completion of the Hubbard is expected in March 2019.

Despite investment in a new indoor building facility, the yard has failed to attract new orders and expects to have to lay off many of its workforce once the ferry order is completed.
